When you drink beverages other than water, you help your mouth bacteria create acids that can destroy your tooth enamel. Snacking or drinking sugary soda pops all day will have your teeth under constant attack.
Chips, candy or cookies can get stuck in grooves and pits of your teeth and help to create a perfect environment for decay and cavity. Proper brushing and flossing every day will help to prevent food particles from sticking and getting caught. If at all possible, brushing every time you eat will also be beneficial to preventing tooth decay.
