Botox Treatments

Clay & Associated DDS, PLC recently introduced Botox and Dermafill services at their new clinic located at 1905 North 15th Street in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Dr. John Clay and Dr. Nan Bates are both trained in Botulinum Toxin, Dermal Filler and Frontline TMD/Orofacial Pain services through the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE) and an ADA CERP Recognized Provider. The training also included model patients where Dr. Clay and Dr. Bates were able practice and perform procedures.

Botox and Dermafill services are well known for cosmetic benefits and are a popular service to treat frown lines, crow’s feet lines, reshape portions of the face, furrows or other skin depressions. Both of these procedures are noticeable within a few hours and improve over the next few days. Patients can expect to continue seeing the benefits for 3 to 4 months after the procedure.

Many may not realize that these same products are beneficial to help with other medical issues such as TMD (Temporomandibular joints) commonly referred to as TMJ and headaches.

TMD can be caused by an injury to the jaw, the joint, or the muscles of your head and neck -- like from a heavy blow or whiplash. Other causes include grinding or clenching of teeth, movement of the soft cushion or disc between the ball and socket of the joint, arthritis in the joint and stress.

Headaches can also become a medical issue from any of the causes listed and Botox has been beneficial in decreasing the pain and frequency of headaches for patients.

The time will be spent explaining the many services that benefit from Botox and Dermafill and allow attendees to ask questions and set up complimentary consultations.
